Events

I love reading my work in front of people. I also love curating and coordinating everything from one-off events to reading series.

Readings are more than a chance for writers to present their work. They also build communities.

I’ve read at a lot of venues as part of reading series with other talented writers. I also curate and host events. Most recently, I put together readings with my former students as part of an Arts Thrive and Grow grant, in Albany and Schenectady.

Over the years, I’ve hosted reading series and events such as Karaoke + Poetry = Fun, which was first held in Brooklyn’s Lyceum, then Bowery Poetry Club, and a couple times at The Spotty Dog in Hudson, NY.

At The College of Saint Rose, I founded and curated Frequency North: The Visiting Writers at The College of Saint Rose, bringing in 60-plus writers to Albany, NY.

We punched well above our weight, regularly bringing in crowds of 75-plus from both the college and the surrounding communities and frequently outdrawing better-resourced regional programs, including events hosted by the New York State Writers Institute.

We also garnered media coverage in print, digital and radio.
