“Living In The Memoir Office,” Jonathan Silverman’s essay on memoir writing and rock and roll, specifically Keith Richards’ Life and Sweat, Joe Bonomo’s book on The Fleshtones, and my Memoir Office, was published this week on The Rumpus.
I’m always a little freaked out when people write about my writing, be it reviews, bulletin boards, or @tweets. Reading this was like listening to someone who really got what I am trying to do, maybe even more than myself. During the time I spent in The Arts Center of the Capital Region–about two weeks, sometimes for 9, 10 hours a day–I went into a zone or trance. I forget most of it.
Anyway, it’s a good read, the essay. You should check it out.
