The Ballade of Third Street Jazz.


Poem written in 1989-1990 in ballade form. A ballade consists of three eight- or ten-line stanzas with a brief envoi. All three stanzas and the envoi end in the same one-line refrain. The Third Street Jazz in the poem is the sadly now-defunct record store in Philadelphia. One page, WordPerfect 5.1 DOS printout [pdf file].
