Just up on Poetry Foundation: “I, Literary Tourist.”

Wiffle ball and scones at the poetry bed and breakfast, mofos!

Read it here. No, seriously. Read it here.

It covers a trip Maisie and I took to Brook Farm Inn, where I had visited in 1996 as a wee lad graduate MFA student-poet.

This leads to an overview and reflections on literary tourism, a tribe of travelers I claim to be a be a lifelong member.

I really enjoy writing these longer and wide-ranging essays for The Poetry Foundation. The last one about Jim Morrison as a poet was fun to put together.

Next up: a piece to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Poetry In Motion, Ron Mann‘s documentary of poets in performance, aka the Greatest Poetry Documentary Ever.
