See the column over there to your left? I just did that. It took a lot of amateur HTMLing on my part. I put some promotional copy in there, including handy-dandy “buy” buttons. Which I encourage you to use!
Anyway, after I did that, I rode the mechanical bull too long and dicked around too much with the Add This button, worked on the permalink stuff, all to no avail.
I usually realize I am way over my head, web-designing and HTML-wise, at around 2am.
Here’s what I still wish I could do with this website:
- Get the AddThis buttons to add a each specific post, rather than the page in general. I’ve put it in what is supposed to be the correct spot in the HTML code, but still no dice.
- Figure out the unicode curly quote issue once and for all. No smart quotes run on this page. I run unicode from the Blogger site, and I can’t figure out what to do to make things like em-dashes and curly quotes work.
- Get CSS running on this front page feed for real. I think it’s just matching the font, and the size is a bit off. All you have to do is look at the live links like this, how they are a different size in the body of a blog post, to see what I mean.
- Get a bare-bones Twitter feed in the left column. I tried with the bare HTML version, and it still produces the ugly bullet points.
Anyone know how to do any of this, there’s a whole lot of free goodies coming your way!
